Tonight's homework is to complete worksheet 5-3.  You must do numbers 1-8 and both 53 and 54.  You may pick 20 problems between #'s 9-52.

Do all and remember that each problem requires three answers.

 Choose 20 of the following 44 questions.

53.  Miss K works Monday through Saturday, so she has a day off once every 7 days.  She calls Missy in California every 5 days.  How often does she get to call Missy on her day off?

54.  The traffic signal near Starbucks and CVS turns green every 6 minutes.  The traffic signal near R. J. Julia's turns green every 4 minutes.  If both turned green at 12:15 PM, when are the next three times that both will turn green at the same time?

Unit Rate

We began working with Unit Rates in math class today.

The short version...

If I buy a six pack of soda for $1.80, the rate is 6 sodas for $1.80, but the unit rate is $0.30 per soda.

After briefly talking about various ways that we could solve for and determine unit rate, we each began working with a Stop and Shop circular to find food and other items that were being sold by the pound or at a group rate (3 for $9.99).  We will continue our activity on Monday as we plan a meal for our families using unit rates and purchasing items in multiple values.
