Today we reviewed LCM and GCF a bit more.  We have a quiz on Friday and tonight's homework is the GCF and LCM word problem sheet.

Tonight's homework is to write 1 LCM and 1 GCF word problem AND write the solutions to them on another sheet of paper.  Use examples from class and below to help you write your problems.  We will have a mini-quiz on Friday on LCM and GCF.

We were really busy in class today, but we accomplished a lot!!!

We reviewed last night's homework, tried a challenge problem, worked on GCF and LCM word problems and some of us even got to play a LCM game online!

Take a look at the problems and work from class below and then try the snowball game yourself!

Tonight's homework is to complete both sides of the prime, composite and factorization worksheet.  Numbers 1-9 should just be identifying if the number is prime (only factors are one and itself) or composite (more factors than just one and itself.)  Numbers 10-19 are factor trees just like the examples above and number 20 is like a factor tree in reverse.  I gave you the factorization, use those numbers to figure out what the original number was!

Tomorrow we will spend a bit of time working on factorization, LCM and GCF, but then we will begin multiplying and dividing fractions!  (It sounds scarier than it actually is!)

Prime Factorization, GCF and playing games for homework!

Today we began looking at GCF (Greatest Common Factor) and practiced using Prime Factorization to find GCF.

As you know, tonight's homework is to play online math games!  And now the Games:

Filling in Factor Trees.  Practice doing the factor trees to find GCF.  Choose either (or both) game and practice!

GCF.  Some of these are pretty tough.  Good luck!

Jeopardy.  Factors and Multiples game.  A bit of review along with our new topic.

Fruit Shoot!  Find the GCF on a piece of fruit and shoot it to get points!  Start at level 1 and move up as you improve.

Sketch!  Answer a few questions on GCF and then play level after level of another game.  Try the timed version for a bigger challenge!
