Playing with Order of Operations!
Everyone has been doing a nice job with order of operations and following PEMDAS!
Here are the answers to the homework from Thursday night...
Today in class we played a game in which we tried to get close to target numbers using random numbers, any operation we could think of and our logical minds. For example, here are some answers for the target value 10 using the numbers 3, 8 and 3.
We'll play the game again tomorrow, but in the meantime, you have homework tonight on Order of Operations. Please complete both sides of the OoO worksheet! There are six problems on each side, but if you get 10 correct, your paper can go in the 100's box tomorrow. Please note that none of the answers are decimal values, but #6 on the the "review" side is a negative number.
Good luck!

Today we performed a little skit about the Order of Operations and had quite a few laughs about it!!!!
You received a packet on Exponents and Order of Operations today that will be due on Thursday. I encourage you to work on and hopefully complete the first page (front and back ) tonight! We will work on it more during class on Wednesday!
Some help on the packet below!

More OoO
Today we had out "Operation Central" play! And we solved the big confusing math problem!
Tonight's homework is the OoO (Order of Operations) worksheet. Most of you either finished or came really close to finishing your homework in class tonight, but here are examples from the paper... Remember that a= 2, b=3, and c=4.

Order of Operations
Notes and examples from class:
And here are some of the homework problems that we did in class:
Tonight's homework is to complete JUST the 2-8 side of the worksheet. You must do all 24 problems and MUST show your work on a separate piece of paper to receive credit for completing your homework. Work slowly and carefully and I am sure you will do well.
