Volume!

It was a blast playing with our building blocks today in class!  Do your best on the worksheet tonight and if you get stuck, grab the blocks you used to play with when you were younger, or play around on the computer with your drawing tools to try to make each shape on your own!  We will spend quite a bit of time looking at our shapes in 3D tomorrow, so if you feel frustrated, I promise it will be better in class tomorrow!

Remember, the first dimension is length.  Like a line.

The second dimension is area.  Any flat item.

The third dimension is depth.  Any solid figure.

The fourth dimension is time.  Where a solid figure exists at any given point in space and time.

The Fifth Dimension is a singing super group from the 70's...

Have a great night and complete both sides of tonight's volume worksheet!

Dividing Fractions

Today we began dividing fractions.  If you felt good about multiplying fractions, you should have no trouble dividing as long as you remember to
KEEP IT!
CHANGE IT!
FLIP IT!
Watch the video below for some practice and extra information.

This video doesn't include cross cancelling, but the division steps are clear.  He also helps with simplifying and converting to mixed numbers.

Another video:  He flips, changes and keeps in the opposite direction but still only flips the second fraction.

Below, please find the steps and examples from class:

Examples from the notesheet.  Not assigned for homework, but good to use for practice if you need more!

Tonight's homework is to complete the dividing worksheet.  Good luck, work carefully!
