We began to play with solving proportions today. We identified and justified what proportions do and do not work and then created our own proportions with pictures. If you did not finish during class, please complete your proportion pictures for tomorrow. Examples below.

Proportion Pictures:

Include the scenario, the proportion and a picture that represents part or all of the proportion.

Today we reviewed a few different ways to solve ratios, focusing on double number lines and tape diagrams.

Today we spent time playing with equivalent ratios and beginning to solve ratio problems. Tonight's homework is to complete these three problems, the front of the worksheet you were given.

Have a good night!

Today we played with ratios a bit more. We practiced simplifying ratios and finding equivalent ratios, but we'll continue to work on that throughout the next few days. We also reviewed the various ways we could set up a ratio; part to part, part to whole, and whole to part.

Tomorrow we will continue to work with ratios, focusing on the different types and finding and using equivalent ratios.

This evening, you should finish your ratio ad if you need to. We looked at the way ratios are used in advertisements and then created our own. Many of you finished in class, but if you didn't, please add your finishing touches this evening!

Homework:

Tomorrow we will continue to work with ratios, focusing on the different types and finding and using equivalent ratios.
