Online Homework!

Good afternoon or evening everyone!  Welcome to your homework.  As you know from class, tonight's homework is to work on the online games and activities for 15 to 20 minutes.  Feel free of course to do more than that, especially if you think that the problems are fun or entertaining.  :)

Click the link or the image to go to the various sites I have found.  Try as many as you can!  (Apologies in advance if any of the links don't work or your computer doesn't like the system requirements)  Feel free to leave a comment to let me know you did your hw or share the site that you thought was the most fun!

Interactives allows you to both read descriptions of the various solids we have explored AND see the nets that can be used to create them.  Be sure to scroll down and click through the pages in the section!

More from Interactives with more of a focus on surface area and different shapes.  Again, scroll down and move through the notes.

On this page, you will see photographs of various solid shapes with links to printable nets that will allow you to make the various 3 dimensional shapes.  Print one out, fold it up (after coloring it if you want), and tape it together just like we did in class today!  (ps This is optional!)

Test your skills in finding volume and surface area!  Choose either the cube or the cuboid (rectangular prism) and determine the volume and surface area.  Be sure to grab a calculator to make it easier!

Exploding shapes.  Choose either of the links above and try to determine the volume of various rectangular prisms (cuboids) and irregular shapes by counting and rotating the shape.  Still having trouble?  "Explode" the shape and see each individual square unit that makes up the total volume!

Printable Nets.  Print out a sheet and fold it up or just explore the net for various 3D shapes.

Create your own rectangular or triangular prism by adjusting measurements, colors and sizes.  Watch the surface area and volume adapt as you modify your dimensions!

And if you are still having trouble with fraction problems, take some time to review the work from Friday's homework below:

I hope that this helps and you all liked the online homework!
